Description
Upper Key Stage 2 and above
Wet Dreams covers a natural part of a young boy’s development through puberty. It provides information and understanding on this developmental process and helps you to navigate difficult conversations whilst teaching RSHE.
It can be used on its own or to complement Lesson 9 of Upper Key Stage 2, Wet dreams and masturbation on our resource, Growing up with Yasmine and Tom.
The booklet was tested with focus groups at Outwood Academy Portland school who said: ‘Good to understand what your body is about. It will help people open up about how they feel about it.’ G aged 12. ‘Really good.’ B, aged 11. ‘Simple enough, looks thorough and not confusing.’ K aged 15.
The full-colour, highly illustrated booklet is aimed at young people aged 9 and above.
Dr Naomi Sutton, Consultant Physician, Integrated Sexual Health Services and an FPA Ambassador said: “These leaflets are perfectly pitched for 9–15-year-olds and provide a much needed sensible and accurate resource about wet dreams. We know that children require self-knowledge about their changing bodies to ensure resilience, self-acceptance and self-confidence and resources like this are invaluable.”
