3 new RSHE lessons: Consent, Misogyny & Wellbeing online & lower prices

Last term we updated Yasmine and Tom for the new September 2026 RSHE curriculum.

As promised, we have now added 3 new lessons to support the updated curriculum.

3 new lessons added

Year 4 “Wellbeing online” lesson:

• Designed to support the new DfE RSHE category “Wellbeing online”
• Made for Year 4 and we recommend revisiting in Year 5 if possible
• Lesson outcomes:
  • Identify positive and negative aspects of the internet
  • Recognise that not all things online are true
  • Identify how social media can negatively affect our mental health
  • Know ways to manage our feelings that are a result of online activity

Year 5 “Consent” lesson:

• Designed to help teachers in tackling this tricky topic in an age appropriate manner
• Reinforces the categories “Respectful, kind relationships” and “Being safe”
• Lesson outcomes:
  • Understand what the word ‘consent’ means
  • Recognise when consent is given, verbally and non verbally
  • Practice asking for consent
  • Practice giving or denying consent

Year 5 “Misogyny” lesson:

• Designed to help teachers tackle another tricky topic in an age appropriate manner
• Reinforces the category “Respectful, kind relationships”
• Lesson outcomes:
  • Understand what misogyny is
  • Recognise misogyny in everyday life
  • Begin to challenge misogynistic behaviour and actions

Easing pressure on the school timetable

We reviewed Yasmine and Tom to make it as streamlined as possible and make room for new material, so we also:

• Merged lessons: We have taken the best parts of “Year 5, lesson 8, Keeping clean” and added them to “Year 4, lesson 6, Germs”. We then removed the “Keeping clean” lesson to make room in Year 5 for another look at “Wellbeing online”.

• Merged lessons: We have taken the best parts of “Year 5, lesson 10, Oral hygiene” and added them to “Year 4, lesson 8, Oral hygiene”. We then removed the “Oral hygiene” lesson to make room in Year 5 for another look at the lesson “Keeping safe – online risks”.

• Removed lesson: “Year 5, lesson 9, Safety in the sun” has been removed to make room for the new Year 5 lesson on Misogyny. Not to worry – sun safety is still covered in Years 1 & 3.
