FPA supports the new statement from the British HIV Association (BHIVA) on the importance of integrating the Undetectable equals Untransmittable (U=U) message into healthcare settings.

It is essential that all healthcare providers are fully aware that people living with HIV who have a sustained, undetectable viral load are at no risk of transmitting the virus to their sexual partners, and that this is clearly communicated to both patients and the public.

We hope that further promotion of this message can help to ease the discrimination and stigma so many people living with HIV in the UK still face.
