From September 2020 every school in England will have to provide good quality, relevant, timely RSE for its pupils. Working with some of the most experienced trainers and with over 40 years experience of delivering training for teachers FPA have developed some brand new training for teachers, school nurses and teaching assistants. This course focuses on young people with special educational needs and disabilities, using FPA's years of experience and wealth of resources to work with this group.
The aim of this course is to develop the practical skills of participants to deliver great quality, timely RSE for pupils with SEND in primary and/or secondary schools
By the end of the training participants will have:
1. explored relevant, upto date guidance about young people with SEND, relationships and sex
2. explored how to create a safe space and facilitate discussions about relationships and sex
3. identified how to use recommended visual RSE resources with young SEND people
4. practiced responding to tricky questions and challenging situations
Costs: Buy a place on the course for £135 or have it delivered at your school for £1,000 (plus trainer travel and expenses) for up to 15 participants
