FPA has been delivering specialist sexual health services and community-based projects across the UK for over 20 years. We’re always looking for new partners and funding opportunities to expand and develop our work.
We work with people of all ages, including:
- people with learning disabilities
- people who have experienced relationship/domestic violence
- people who are homeless
- parents and foster carers.
We're not just experts in delivering sexual health information. We also focus strongly on life skills such as:
- increasing confidence
- negotiating skills
- building positive relationships.
Current partners include Centrepoint, Mencap and Scottish Autism.
How we work
Our projects are delivered by experienced project workers using established group work programmes which are reviewed and evaluated on an ongoing basis.
We take a flexible approach. We develop and adapt our work to make sure people's individual needs are met.
All our work is internally evaluated. Where funding allows, we are also evaluated externally.
“...the course provided us with up-to-date skills, knowledge and resources, and the confidence to enable us to look at and deal with various aspects of relationships and sexuality with the individuals we support.”
Adrian Conran, Team Manager , Community Support Team
“… the sessions were very interesting, enlightening and very educative. I know it will definitely go a long way in helping me to deliver my service to all my clients with regards to their sexual health needs.”
Kasi Al-Jenead, Assistant Team Manager, residential home
“...two of my group...said that after your session they decided that it would be a good idea to go to the clinic to get checked out. They said it had really made them think about STIs and about looking after themselves... When they returned...the whole group had a discussion about sexual health.”
Hazel, Project Leader, Glasgow West Regeneration Agency
