Sexual exploitation: safeguarding children and young people

“Excellent, I will put new skills into practice.”
Course participant, East Sussex County Council

Young people are increasingly being drawn into sexually exploitative situations. Internet grooming, peer pressure to get involved in paid sexual activity and trafficking of young people are all issues which professionals working with young people have to consider.

This course aims to highlight some of these topics for staff working with young people, to make the risk indicators easier to spot and to discuss appropriate interventions.
