Twilight sessions for teachers

FPA has developed a set of four twilight sessions for teachers which are delivered in school.

Designed to cover four main areas to help with the sex and relationships education (SRE) elements of a personal, social, health and economics (PSHE) education programme, the sessions can be bought in individually or as a group.

Each session is delivered to a group of up to 12 teachers by an experienced FPA trainer. Each session comes with an information pack containing lesson plans which can be used straightaway in the classroom.

With different levels of information for primary and secondary schools these sessions are an essential element of any SRE training for teachers. There is also a programme of work for those working with young people with learning disabilities.

There are four sessions available covering:

• Attitudes/values.
• Handling sensitive issues.
• Information.
• Skills.

Costs

Each session is two hours long and can be placed anywhere in a school day, not just in a Twilight session.

To buy one individual session for 12 staff costs £450 plus trainer expenses.

The four sessions can be delivered as a two-day package, as well as four individual sessions, at a cost of £1,600 plus trainer expenses.
