“Probably the best course attended in 25 years of service.”
Course participant, Newport City Council
Staff working with people with learning disabilities often have some anxieties when they start to think about sex and relationships work (SRW). There are many complex issues which need to be considered before starting to address SRW, such as sex and relationships policies, legal aspects, capacity to consent, assessment of sexual knowledge, and the skills that staff currently have.
This three-day course addresses the important issues in SRW and gives participants the opportunity to discuss complex areas of work and share useful skills and ideas with each other.
The course is suitable for anyone working with people with mild–moderate learning disabilities who has little experience of SRW and wants an introduction to this area of work.
