FPA publishes new LARC leaflet

23 October 2009

Sexual health charity fpa has launched a new publication to add to its award-winning range of information booklets. Your Guide to Long-acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARCs) provides easy to understand information on all four LARC methods.

The four LARC methods are the IUD, the IUS, the contraceptive implant and the contraceptive injection. The new booklet gives information on how each method works, its effectiveness and where contraception can be accessed for free.

Lynn Hearton, fpa's Helpline and Information Services Manager said: “There is a growing demand for long-acting contraceptive methods and this booklet can be used by both women and health professionals. It's important that women have clear and concise information so they can choose the contraceptive method that is best for them.”

The booklets cost £6.50 for 50 and are available to order from fpa on 0845 122 8600 or fpadirect@fpa.org.uk. General Practices in England only can order the booklets for free, contact fpa for more details.
