FPA launches Jiwsi workbook in North Wales

30 July 2007

A free bilingual workbook in English and Welsh from fpa’s Jiwsi project is now available for professionals working with young people in sexual health. Jiwsi is an fpa project in North Wales delivering sex and relationships education (SRE) to vulnerable young people under 25. Download a free copy from fpa’s website.

The workbook is an easy to read ‘pick n’ mix’ format featuring great ideas for workshops and activities with young people. It tackles challenging and sensitive issues around sexual health. Many of the exercises can be used with participants who have learning disabilities and suggestions for adapting the exercises for participants with different needs are included on many of the exercises.

Terri Ryland, Director of Practice Development, fpa said: “The Jiwsi workbook is an excellent new resource for those teaching sexual health skills to young people. The Jiwsi project has been a great success in North Wales for a number of years. This workbook will now help professionals throughout the UK deliver the same high quality sexual health education programmes that Jiwsi does.”
