FPA statement on Cardinal Keith O'Brien's comments on abortion

Tim Street, Director of fpa in Scotland said: “Although Cardinal O'Brien is entitled to his own beliefs, inflammatory comments such as these are extremely unhelpful and add nothing to discussions about abortion.”

“fpa supports a woman's right to choose. Debates conducted in this fashion are unnecessary and only vilify women who are deciding whether to continue with a pregnancy or not. What women facing an unplanned pregnancy do need is support and non-judgemental information.”
