Volunteer for FPA

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with FPA.

We currently have the following opportunity available. If the role matches your skills and interests then we would love to hear from you! We value the contribution, skills, enthusiasm, and experiences that volunteers bring to our organisation.

Trust Fundraising Volunteer

Based either at our London office near Old Street or from home.

Why we need you!

Everyone needs good quality sex and relationships education to get the most out of life. It’s still a taboo subject and yet the consequences of ignorance can lead to problems like sexually transmitted infections, unplanned pregnancies and mental health issues to name but a few.

FPA runs a range of innovative projects to help support vulnerable sections of our society including those affected by homelessness, domestic violence and learning disabilities.

We need your skills and enthusiasm in trust fundraising to help keep these projects running as well as to identify new opportunities where we can make a difference to people’s lives.

Ideally you'll also have skills in the following areas: research, communication/interpersonal and computer work.

A day in the life...

We are looking for someone who can devote anything from half a day to 14 hours per week to help identify charitable trusts that might be sympathetic to our cause.

You'll be researching the giving histories of individual trusts and key contact information so that we can tailor our approach to their particular interests.

FPA also submits tenders for specific projects and we would appreciate your help with putting these together so that they stand out from the competition. It’s a lot of work but the rewards can be excellent.

You will be volunteering alongside our Director of Practice Development and our Community and Parenting Manager, both of whom have many years of experience in this area of work as well as an active involvement in delivering the projects themselves.

In return we can offer you

  • A working agreement, clearly setting out the boundaries of the work.
  • A chance to build existing skills and develop new ones.
  • Regular support to help personal development.
  • Opportunities to participate in free sexual health training where available.
  • Improved job prospects.
  • Reasonable travel (up to the value of an off-peak zones 1 – 6 London travelcard), meal, child and dependant care expenses.
  • A chance to be part of the wider FPA team.
  • Access to the FPA library including access to our online catalogue for as long as your volunteering period lasts.
