At FPA we think finding a contraceptive method that fits in with you and your lifestyle is good not just for stopping you or your partner from becoming pregnant, but for general confidence, sexual pleasure (because you are not worrying about becoming pregnant), and peace of mind. So, we want to help you choose what you use.
Are we offered everything that’s available by whoever we get our contraception from? And do we take full advantage of all this choice?
We happily spend hours searching for all sorts of things . . . the perfect restaurant, purple sofa, share option, summer holiday, obscure web blog, boots, archery course . . . you name it. But, how much serious thought do we give to whether the contraceptive method we’re using really suits us, whether we like using it and whether it gives us the confidence we need? Too often we only think about whether our contraception is right – when something goes wrong.
It's also easy to be complacent. Our lifestyles change and evolve. Just because you have been using a method that suited you a couple of years ago, doesn’t mean to say it automatically suits you now. Methods are always being improved, so something you may have disregarded before, may be quite different now.
There are 15 methods of contraception and one of them will be your perfect partner.
