How we produce our sexual health information

FPA is committed to providing high-quality information on sexual health issues. We produce clear and accurate information in a range of different formats.

Our aims are:

• To inform people about the full range of contraceptive methods and support their choices.
• To inform people about sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and how to have safer sex.
• To inform people about their choices when they are pregnant, including abortion and adoption, and to support their choices.
• To inform people about planning a pregnancy and help them to make healthy choices during early pregnancy.
• To provide information on sexual development and health for young people.

Our information is evidence-based and informed by clinical experts in sexual health. We review it regularly to make sure it is as current as possible.

The Information Standard

Since May 2012, FPA has been certified as a provider of high-quality, safe and reliable health information by The Information Standard scheme.

The Information Standard is an independent scheme, supported by the Department of Health. It recognises high-quality health and social care information and is a way to help you identify reliable and trustworthy sources of information.

The Information Standard quality mark

FPA shall hold responsibility for the accuracy of the information we publish and neither the scheme operator nor the scheme owner shall have any responsibility whatsoever for costs losses or direct or indirect damages or costs arising from inaccuracy of information or omissions in information published on this website on behalf of FPA.
