Fundraising volunteers

Based at the FPA London office (near Old Street)
6–14 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Are you interested in learning about charity fundraising? We’re looking for enthusiastic and motivated people to help our busy team raise funds for FPA.

You will need to:

  • be interested in helping FPA meet its mission/sympathetic to our cause
    have good organisational skills
  • enjoy researching
  • have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • be able to work as part of a team
  • be enthusiastic and willing to learn
  • have good computer and database skills
  • commit to volunteering for 6 to 14 hours per week on a regular basis.

Typical tasks


  • Researching Charitable Trusts, including previous giving history, details of main contacts, areas of our work they may fund.
  • Researching companies, their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) profile, previous giving history, details of main contacts, reasons the work of FPA would interest them.
  • Producing regular mailings to Charitable Trusts and companies, keeping records of that activity and of all follow ups/responses.
  • Proactively seeking out ideas for new fundraising approaches.
  • Approaching potential donors for raffle prizes.
