China leaves a lasting impression on all who go there. It is a country immersed in history, mythology and ancient traditions. This huge mass of land has the largest population on Earth. Our trek takes us along sections of the Great Wall including parts that date back to the Ming Dynasty.

This challenge is quite demanding so you'll need to be reasonably fit and healthy to do it.

Trip cost: £1,300 (approximately)
Sponsorship cost: £1,300 (approximately)

Climb Kilimanjaro

17–27 March 2011; 15–25 September 2011

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and one of the largest free standing mountains in the world. Climbing Kilimanjaro is a challenge, to say the least, and is one of the mountains almost every trekker and mountaineer in the world wants to conquer.

Kilimanjaro is more or less 24 miles wide and 49 miles long; it is more ecosystem than mountain. It dwarfs other regional landmarks like Mt. Meru and Mt. Kenya and dominates the savannah of East Africa.

The mountain consists of three peaks: Shira, Mawenzi, and Kibo (the highest point of which is Uhuru). We will be climbing Mount Kibo peak in this challenge.

Trip cost: £1,700 (approximately)
Sponsorship required: £1,700 (approximately)

Trek Jordan

13–17 October 2011

Jordan is mainly desert, from the dramatic red sands and towering cliffs of the far south to the stony plains in the east. But there are also lush hills in the north and the plunging rift of the Jordan Valley which runs into the Dead Sea.

The trek ends at the famous Red Rose City of Petra. Built more than 2000 years ago, it stretches over several kilometres and is the highlight of this amazing country.

Trip cost: £900 (approximately)
Sponsorship required: £900 (approximately)
