One too Many – alcohol and sexual health

14–20 September 2009

One too Many examined the relationship between alcohol and sexual health. At FPA we know the sexual health risks people take when they’ve been drinking alcohol. People ring our helpline the next day, week and sometimes even months later with concerns about one night of drinking.

During the week we promoted some strategies to help people protect their sexual health when they're out drinking and gave out guidance to professionals on dealing with issues around alcohol and sexual health.

It's My Right!

4–10 August 2008

There are an estimated 1.5 million people in the UK living with learning disabilities and over the years FPA has worked to support their rights to have fulfilling sexual lives and relationships.

Sexual Health Week 2008 supported the sexual health needs of people with learning disabilities to allow them to engage in relationships in a safe and supported environment.

Pillow Talk

6–12 August 2007

Most people probably already know that condoms protect against pregnancy and most sexually transmitted infections. Despite people’s best intentions about using them, condoms may be thought about and carried about – but never got out and used.

People can find talking about using condoms with their partner a difficult experience. So they don’t talk. Talking about condoms should be a conversation that is straightforward, reassuring and normal. If people are confident talking about condoms they’re more likely to use them. This year's campaign aimed to help conversation flow a little more smoothly.
