Janet Ellis, television presenter, said, “I feel that even in this day and age, there’s still a lot of embarrassment and ignorance about discussing sex and relationships with your children. So for me supporting a charity tackling this everyday through their work with parents and young people is perfect. And of course FPA is a leader in reproductive health too – such a vital issue to women.”
Dr David Bull has an award winning career in television broadcasting and was the first person to broadcast exclusively to children on health issues.
“Young people’s wellbeing and sexual health are issues I care passionately about. Too many young people don’t have enough sexual health education and information to take care of themselves properly. So working with one of the UK’s oldest and most respected sexual health charities who are tackling these issues head on every day, is a wonderful opportunity.”
Dr Liz Nelson, OBE is founder of the second largest market research company in the world – Taylor Nelson Sofres. "I support FPA because it has consistently worked for the education of everyone about sexual relationships and sexual health. We must help not only young people but also parents, teachers, carers and all adults to encourage the discussion of healthy sex. Education about sexual matters is vital in Britain today."
David Aaronovitch, commentator and broadcaster writes a weekly column for The Times having previously written for titles such as the Guardian, the Observer and The New Statesman. “Sexual health influences every thread of our lives from relationships to professional aspirations. So I am pleased to become patron to FPA – an organisation that I consider is constantly striving to improve people’s lives, and isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo.”
